Experience the highest level of immersion in virtual reality with your friends and family!
Area 151 VR in Downtown Redding is a modern VR zone. We provide the highest level of immersion in virtual reality.
The tracking system will transfer all your movements into the game, and the huge playground will allow you to feel the freedom of movement.
A well-developed gameplay will allow each participant to feel like a member of the team. You will be able to play the same game over and over and discover new emotions and impressions every time.
Virtual reality is an illusion, but you will forget about it when immersed in Another World.
(move the slider from left to right)
We have taken special efforts and devoted our full attention to creating a full-immersion experience that will allow you to dive deep into our virtual reality.
The best solution lies at the intersection of art and state-of-the-art technologies. We really want to make Area 151 an unforgettable experience!
We are closed Monday and Tuesday, but we are open Wednesday- Sunday 10am-7pm. We will only be closed on four Major holidays (Christmas, thanksgiving, easter, labour day)
We will occasionally take walk-in appointments, and those who walk in can make an appointment with the game master for the soonest available slot.

all of our experiences utilize equipment that are recommended for ages 13 and up. for private games, we will allow ages 6 and up at parent/guardian's discretion. note: parent/guardian must be present, supervising & helping to coach the child as needed and directed to by the staff.
(please note that the equipment used for: "extraction point," "l.a. deadzone" & "mission critical" is bulky and heavy - approximately 12 lbs - and can be difficult for smaller kids to wear and handle.)
there are no hard and fast rules here, if you want to wear a sumo suit and high heels, we'll do our best to fit the equipment on you. but we do suggest that you wear something comfortable! if you are going to be trying our full-immersion game, "extraction point," we suggest that you wear cool clothes (no jacket/sweatshirt) and closed-toe shoes.
oh, and heads up - makeup is a-ok with us, just know that some types of makeup may come off on the VR headset :-)
yes! now, heads up - a lot of VR centers do not allow this, but all of our equipment at Area 151 is compatible with most glasses. Large-framed glasses are harder to fit in our equipment, but in many cases we have found it possible.
for our group games - most likely not. you are physically walking around instead of using buttons to 'move' in the game. what you see on screen matches up with how you are moving your head & body, so your brain is more likely to be fooled than with traditional VR. every person is different, so pay attention to how you are feeling & know that you can stop at any time.
you may be more prone to motion sickness when using our single player stations. proceed with caution and know that you can switch to another game or stop at any time. we recommend that (if you have the option in the game) to select "teleport" movement/locomotion as this greatly reduces the chance of motion sickness.
our 'stationary escape games' utilize "teleport" movement - so it is not typical for players to experience motion sickness during those either.
all of our multi-person experiences are tailored to you and your group. you decide who to bring & who to experience these virtual worlds together with! there may be other games happening at the same time in our facility (in different sections) during your time here.
there are some inherent risks associated with this activity and we require all adult participants to sign a waiver before participating. a parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver for any participant under 18. (waivers can be signed and submitted digitally prior to your event)
to preview the waiver now, you can click here or visit the link below:

for our single player experiences & stationary escape games: absolutely!
our multiplayer experiences do require physical locomotion to enjoy (you never press a button to move in the virtual world) and wheelchairs may pose a hazard for other players. with that said - we've never tried! if you use a wheelchair and want to try our multi-person experiences, please contact us at virtulbattlearena@area151vr.com
and we can see if there is anything we can do to make it work!
We cannot give personal medical advice, so please discuss our activities with your doctor if you have concerns. in general, participation is NOT advised for people that are pregnant, elderly, under the age of 13, have implanted medical devices or pre-existing medical conditions such as heart conditions, abnormal blood pressure, photosensitivity, epilepsy, and/or any physical or psychological abnormalities and/or disorders.
